Peace Begins with Us

Members and Friends,
Thursday, THIS Thursday October 15 we would like to see you all at our next monthly meeting of the Racine Coalition for Peace and Justice! It will be at 7:00 p,m. at the Hopes Center, 521 Sixth Street. We are hoping to have Gloria Rogers of the local chapter of the NAACP with us to tell about her recent trip to Washington D.C. for the culmination of the Selma to Washington D.C. march. She will also tell us about the current projects, challenges and goals of the local NAACP. There was some miscommunication regarding the date she was to visit us. We will not know if she or another representative from the NAACP will be with us until we get there!

There is a lot of business, however, on the docket for our business meeting and we need your input. So please be there!

Climate Change will be the theme of our monthly Stand for Peace and Justice, Saturday morning at 10 o’clock at the northwest corner of the intersection of Highways 20 and 31(Washington Avenue and Green Bay Road). This is in conjunction with the World Summit on Climate Change to be held the next week in Paris, France.
We have a few climate related posters, but if you could bring any along it would be appreciated.

Speaking of which!!! Don’t forget the documentary movie to be shown at the Marcus Renaissance Cinema, 10411 Washington Avenue, Thursday, October 29th, at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are only available on the Internet: Other presenters are the Southeast Gateway Sierra Club, The Eco-Justice Center, The Sienna Earth Committee, and Greening Greater Racine.
